We believe that nobody should ever be left alone after the loss of a loved one. Having the right support available gives everybody the opportunity to receive the help that they require when faced with grief.

Mission Statement

We aim to ensure that every bereaved adult, young person and child can access consistent and high quality bereavement services within the Bridgend area at any time. One of our main aims is to help bereaved individuals with grief by supporting and helping them to reduce stress and possible mental health problems that might occur in the future.

The charities Counsellors offer ‘Bereavement Awareness Sessions’ to schools, colleges, youth clubs, care homes and local companies.

BCBS provides bereavement support, information and guidance – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There is always a member of our team available via phone, email, Twitter, Facebook messenger and the website is always available at your fingertips.

Our Story

Bridgend Community Bereavement Support (BCBS) was founded in 2017 by professional Integrated Counsellor Beverley Green. Beverley discovered that a number of her bereaved clients were struggling with the lost of a loved one and that they didn’t have the appropriate support within the area. It was from this, that Beverley recognised the need for a bereavement support with the area and decided to start a support group where adults would be able to gather together and meet others who are experiencing similar situations and have the opportunity to share their experiences.

BCBS is the only bereavement charity situated within Bridgend, and extends the service to all its surrounding areas. Most people are often left to grieve alone with no, or even little support available, this can in some cases have a devastating impact on family life and especially on children – we are here to help people rebuild their lives and support them in moving forward.
